The Thermistor Flow Sensor is designed for adult use and is fully compatible with PDX systems. It features three or four heat-sensitive elements that are positioned beneath the patient’s nostrils. These elements detect temperature variations caused by inhaled and exhaled air during respiration, generating a signal that is directly proportional to these changes.
SleepSense thermal airflow sensors, including the 1465 model, produce a low-level analog electrical voltage that provides a clear and reliable indication of respiratory airflow. For optimal performance, this sensor must be connected to the thermal-flow input of the monitoring system.
